Afghanistan: Taliban Released Two US Hostages

The Taliban released two American hostages held in southern Afghanistan since 2016. On Tuesday, insurgent sources and a police officer informed AFP about this. As per the local police sources, at around 10 am on Tuesday morning, two professors of the American University were released in Nawabhar district of Jabul province. After which he was taken out of Jabul by American helicopters. At the same time, Taliban sources have said that Kevin King of the United States and Australian Timothy Weeks have been released. At present, there is no immediate comment from the US Embassy in Afghanistan.
